London Grammar covers INXS’ “Devil Inside” for Game of Thrones

Not only has Game of Thrones provided countless hours of entertainment via an alluring mix of sword fights, dragons, and a copious amount of nudity, it’s also given us some new music. Earlier this month, the HBO epic sought to attract a whole new group of Thronies by releasing the Catch The Throne hip-hop mixtape. Now, a new trailer for season four reveals London Grammar’s fresh take on INXS’s 1988 classic “Devil Inside”. Though we only get to hear a snippet, the cover looks to be a fittingly grand and sweeping take on the normally subdued and sensuous single. Watch the trailer below.

Listen to the full cover below.

Jimmy Kimmel Makes Up Fake Bands, Asks SXSW Hipsters About Them: Watch | Billboard

We all know that guy or girl, the one who always knows -- or purports to know -- every band or musician you mention, no matter how obscure the artist. Jimmy Kimmel's penchant for exposing many of those folks as frauds took him to Coachella last year, where he and his crew made up fake musical acts and asked unsuspecting hipsters if they had heard of the fakes, and whether or not they were excited to see them perform.

Now, Kimmel has taken it one step further, arriving at the mecca of music big- and small-time, South By Southwest, this week to prey once more on festivalgoers who simply can't admit they're not in the know.

Kimmel and co. premiered the new video clip on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," having sent a roving reporter to various locales to interview different people on their knowledge of, say, DJ Costco in a new edition of the show's Lie Witness News. Kimmel's show is currently being taped at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
Along the way in the five-minute clip, attendees are schooled on their hipness to Contact Dermititis (the interview asks an interviewee if he thinks they'll "spread like a rash across the U.S.," the man responding with an enthusiastic, "Hopefully!"), country rap crossover hit Willie Nelson Mandela ("I've heard it, but I'm not really into it," one man said, taking the safest road possible) and Tonya and the Hardings, who are apparently "hard-hitting" and have an album titled "Sorry About That, Nancy."
Other fake acts include DJ Cornmeal, I'm Not Done With This Salad and Vegan Bikini.

Starz Sets Premiere Date for Da Vinci's Demons Season 2

Although it is an unrelated post, we must inform you about this magical tv-show, that i'm certain most of you will find fascinating.

Starz announced today that the second season of the historical fantasy "Da Vinci's Demons," an original series created by David S. Goyer ("The Dark Knight" trilogy, Man of Steel, upcoming Batman vs. Superman), will premiere in the U.S. on Saturday, March 22nd at 9pm ET/PT.

The ten-episode drama, produced by Adjacent Productions, follows the 'untold' story of the world's greatest genius, Leonardo da Vinci, during his turbulent youth during the Renaissance. Starz greenlit "Da Vinci's Demons" for a second season following its record-setting first season weekend debut on Starz on Friday April 12, 2013.

Outside of the United States and English-speaking Canada, "Da Vinci's Demons" is distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide, in partnership with FOX International Channels (FIC) who broadcasts the series to audiences in 125 countries in Latin America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa following Starz's exclusive premiere in the U.S.

Brilliant and passionate, the 25-year- old Leonardo da Vinci is an artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist. As a free thinker, with intellect and talents that are almost superhuman, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time.

Winter NAMM 2014 takes place in Anaheim, California from January 23-26 2014. 1.
Pioneer DDJ-SZ (£1749,€1999,$2399)
1.The DDJ-SZ is Pioneer's new flagship Serato DJ-compatible controller/audio interface.
Taking design and build cues from Pioneer's CDJ decks, the DDJ-SZ is more than a third bigger than the DDJ-SX and comes with larger, CDJ-sized jogwheels. There are also performance pads, dual USB ports for simultaneous connection to two computers, and a mixing area that takes its lead from Pioneer's DJM series.
Find out more in the press release below or on the Pioneer DJ website. The DDJ-SZ will be available in March, with the first 5000 units sold worldwide shipping with a free license for the Serato Video plugin.
2.
                                              Pioneer Remix Station RMX-500($499)
2.Alongside the SZ, Pioneer also had a new, cut-down RMX Station on display at this year’s show. As with the RMX-1000 the new unit is designed to help enhance DJ performances with Rhythm, Scene and Release FX. You can also add further variation with the Pressure Controller knobs.
As with its bigger sibling, the Remix-Station 500 comes with a plugin that enables you to use its effects in a DAW, with the hardware then functioning as a controller.

3.
   Sennheiser HD7 and HD8 DJ Headphones($329.95)

3.Announced at CES earlier in the month and on display at NAMM, Sennheiser’s latest DJ headphones are based on upgraded specs inspired by the company’s much-loved HD 25s.
The headphones have apparently been developed in conjunction with DJs including Bob Sinclair and Luciano in order to offer DJs optimum comfort, sound and durability. On the downside, it seems that they don’t offer user-replaceable parts, which is one of the features that made the HD 25s so popular.
4.
Hercules DjControlWave

4.There’s certainly no shortage of beginner-friendly iPad DJ controllers on the market these days. Hercules’ new offering is noteworthy, however, for being entirely wireless.
Once charged, there’s no need to plug the DJControlWave into anything - simply sync up to Hercules’ own DJUCED mixing app and you’re good to go.
It remains to be seen how useful this wireless capability would prove to be, or whether it works without latency or dropout issues, but it’s a curious development nonetheless.

5.
Millenium Falcon CDJ 2000Nexus

Star Wars fan? Then this is the one for you. Unlike the Five Axis, this one is actually functioning and definitely puts itself forward as a main contender for the pinnacle of DJ geek chic. If only Han Solo and Chewbacca could help you commandeer it.
